Accessing our School Support Team and support facilities
Our families have had the opportunity to support their child and share information with school about their child’s wellbeing and learning through:

School Association Annual General Meeting and election of our Association Committee

Receiving Progress Reports
Thank you to all families for the support you’ve given school this term through check in conversations or by meeting with us to discuss concerns or share information to help us to better meet the needs of your child. Together each of our everyday connections at school gives us the opportunity to make our school a positive learning environment. We look forward to continuing to work with you to assist your child as the year progresses.
Thanks also to our school staff for their huge input of energy, time and commitment to student wellbeing and learning across the term.
Staffing change for Term Two:
We will farewell Ms Kathleen O’Meara from our school on the final day of this term. Kathleen has taught Prep SO on Fridays this year and has had various teaching roles at our school over the last few years. We congratulate Kathleen on gaining a new position for next term.
Prep SO move back to their usual room
Thank you to families for your patience and understanding while repairs were being made to Prep SO’s classroom during this term. With new flooring now completed, carpet laid and new heating in place, the class has now moved back to their original room – just in time for the colder weather.

A reminder that all raffle books need to be returned to our school office by 9am on Wednesday 9th April, the raffle will be drawn at 12pm on the same day.

In 3-4 Iyer, we have been busy learning life cycles in Science and Australian symbols in HASS.

In Science, we have been learning about life cycles of plants and animals. We got an opportunity to visit the kitchen garden and Evin showed how a bean plant grows from seed to a full-grown plant. We also walked around and saw different plants in different stages of the life cycle. We got our learning back to the classroom and spent an afternoon drawing diagrams of life cycles of plants and animals.

In HASS, we have learnt about important Australian symbols such as the Australian flag, the Aboriginal flag, the Coat of Arms and why poppies are an important part of Australian heritage. We have also been learning Advance Australia Fair, our national anthem to create a sense of belonging and civics and citizenship towards everyone in Australia. We spent an afternoon re-creating the Australian symbols and writing quick notes about them to consolidate our understanding.

Harmony Day Celebrations (March 21, 2025) in 3-4 Mika and 3-4 Iyer
On March 21st, 2025 (Friday), 3-4 Mika and 3-4 Iyer got together to celebrate Harmony Day. We discussed the importance of Harmony Day and why we celebrate it in Australia. We spoke about the importance of being inclusive and kind to everyone.
Miss Mika brought in a beautiful saree that belonged to her mum, and Mrs Iyer showed us how it’s traditionally worn. Students were fascinated to learn about this elegant, single-piece garment, worn by women in many South Asian countries like India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
Then we did some amazing artwork organised by Miss Mika to showcase the relevance of Harmony Day to our classroom, accepting each other’s uniqueness.
To end our time together, we enjoyed some delicious Indian biscuits—childhood favourites of Mrs Iyer—which added a sweet touch to our shared celebration.
It was a beautiful way to honour our diversity, and we hope you enjoy these snapshots of our special day!
