Grade 3/4 Assembly

The Grade 3 /4 Assembly on the 6th August provided so many wonderful examples of students learning and achieving and demonstrating our school values of Caring, Growth, Connection, Responsibility and Respect.

The Assembly started with a great performance by the choir who sang two songs ‘Welcome to all people’ and ‘Home among the gum trees’. It was beautiful to watch the large group of students so engaged and obviously enjoying singing. Their performance was joyful and polished. A big thanks to our Music teacher Mr Hasty who led the choir on his guitar.

The two sharing classes both had their learning focus on multiplication. Miss Hedington’s class managed to demonstrate how to solve multiplication problems using Human Arrays. For example, 3 groups of 4 = 12. Students had to move themselves into rows to show how this looked and to be able to count the number of students altogether in the array. Miss Mika used a music clip to the tune of “We will, we will, rock you” for the class to sing their times tables.  It was a good example of how our teachers are creating fun and engaging ways to teach, in this instance using movement and music.

Congratulations to the 10 students who received a Values certificate in this Assembly. You should be very proud of the effort, determination, kindness and respect you are demonstrating. Congratulations to:

A big thank you to all parents/carers and family members who braved the cold and joined us for our Assembly. The students are always so happy to have people in the audience they know, and it’s great to have an appreciative audience for students to share their learning with.
